ICDE – International Conference on Development Economics

July 2-3, 2024 I Aix-en-Provence (France)

The objective of the conference is to be a forum to discuss innovative research in development economics. Empirical and theoretical contributions are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: agriculture, climate change, conflict, digitalization, employment, energy policies, environment, firm performance, growth, health, inequality, international trade, migration, monetary policy, population, poverty, social assistance and insurance, taxation and vulnerability.

We actively promote the participation of junior researchers and researchers based in the global South.

The ICDE is the annual conference of the French association on development economics, AFEDEV.
AFEDEV brings together researchers and practitioners in the field of development economics and promotes research in development economics in France.
Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) is hosting ICDE 2024.

Presentations will be held in English. There will be poster and parallel sessions.

– Submission deadline: until February 9, 2024 – Decision to authors: March 14, 2024
– Registration: until May 18, 2024

Funding

Developing country applicants residing in the global South may request funding to cover travel costs to Aix- en-Provence, accommodation, registration and visa fees. Application for this financial support is to be made at the submission stage (in the “comments” section). Given the limited budget, funding provided may only partially cover the full cost of travel and participation.
For visa fees, funded participants will pay in advance, and will be reimbursed after the conference on presentation of proof.
